Parenting arrangements can cover where the child lives, time spent with each parent, communication arrangements, and decision-making responsibilities. These can be formalised through parenting plans (non-binding) or consent orders (legally binding and enforceable by the court).

If parents cannot agree, the Family Court can make parenting orders.
